To Coles Bay

If you have travelled by car or bicycle once you turn off the Tasman Highway onto the Coles Bay Road it will take you around 28 kms to reach the township. Along the road there is the chain of white sandy beaches called Friendly Beaches, definitely worth a visit. Once you reach Coles Bay there are cafes, restaurants and accommodation. There are 2 small supermarkets for provisioning and fuel.  We highly recommend booking your accommodation in  advance during the high season of December and January.

In the National Park

Freycinet National Park can be accessed by vehicle, bicycle or on foot. There are some limitations on areas where large motorhomes can access  the park. The start of the National Park borders the town of Coles Bay and has an excellent visitor information centre which gives visitors all the local information on the park; you can also pay your fees here.  If you are on foot the start of the WineglassBay walk is approximately 5 kms from the town of Coles Bay.  Click freycinet_np_guide for a fantastic brochure on the National Park including a map of the walking tracks.
